Sarah Kathryn Kersey

I’m Sarah Kathryn Kersey and I have been married to my husband, Sean Kersey, now for 7 years! We just recently renovated a home in Meadow Brook. We have 2 kids: little girl Greer age 4 1/2 and little boy Graham 2 1/2. Greer has been a part of the Meadow Brook preschool the last 2 years. She is now at Inverness elementary in the pre-k program. Graham will be starting in the 2 year old class this year!  This is my first year to teach at Meadow Brook, and I am so very excited to get to know all of you! I will be working Tuesday through Friday (Wednesday/Friday) in the infant room and (Tuesday/Thursday) in the 2 Year old class! I received my associates degree from Jefferson State Community College in early childhood education in 2008 and worked at Primrose for six years and as a private nanny after that.

Kristi Akins

Kristi is in her fourth year of teaching preschool. She was born and raised in Green Bay, WI, but has lived in Birmingham for the last 20 years. Kristi and her husband Don have been married for 20 years and have two sons-Jackson, a freshman in college, and Maddox, a sophomore in high school. In her free time, she enjoys art, painting, decorating and cheering on her Green Bay Packers!

Gina Mason

Gina graduated from the University of Montevallo with a B.S.in Merchandising and a minor in Business. She worked for several years as a home furnishings buyer, and acting software trainer before she moved into the field of healthcare software, where she worked until she had her twins RJ and Lilly Grace, who currently attend Inverness Elementary School. She and her husband Richard have been married since 2008. They are all active members at Asbury United Methodist Church. She enjoys being a part of the Shepherd’s Ministry at Asbury, for kids with special needs. She is very involved in the Birmingham Area Mother’s of Multiples and enjoys practical jokes, lots of laughter, traveling, camping, cheering, Girl Scouting, Boy Scouting and volunteering at Inverness Elementary School. She started substitute teaching at Meadow Brook Baptist Preschool at the beginning of the year in 2017, when her twins were in kindergarten, and loved it so much that she immediately took a job as a floating aide in the three year olds classes. At the beginning of 2018, she began teaching in the two year olds class when the opportunity arose. Meadow Brook Baptist is like a second home for her, not just a job. She loves the kids, parents and the staff more than she ever imagined that she could!

Kay Maitrejean

I have been a part of Meadow Brook Baptist Preschool for the past 15 years.  It has been such a blessing to have been able to have taught in the 2’s, 3’s, and 4’s. It was such a tough decision to come out of the classroom and not be able to love my own little class, but now I can love all 120 students each and every day!!
