My name is Denise Aycock. I’ve been married for 39 years and have three grown children and 4 grandchildren. My grandchildren have and do attend Kids of the Kingdom Preschool. I have lived in Birmingham for 18 years. I have been a substitute teacher for 13 years in Shelby County. I also worked at Primrose for two summers in the Summer School program.

Elizabeth began teaching at Meadow Brook Weekday Preschool in the fall of 2010. She is originally from South Carolina and came to Birmingham to attend Samford University. After graduation, she worked at Samford for 10 years in the offices of Admission and Alumni Development. She and her husband have two children who both graduated from Meadow Brook Preschool. Her family attends Vestavia Hills Baptist Church.

Erin is from Phoenix, AZ. She moved to Alabama in 2012. Erin has three children, three cats, two bunnies and a dog! She has taught Sunday school, ballet, Kindergarten and now Preschool! Erin is excited to be a part of the Meadowbrook Preschool team and to get back into teaching.

Jennifer was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida. She graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Social Work and a minor in Child Development and Psychology. She met her husband of 22 years at Auburn. They have three children ages 17 – 9. She is an active member of North Shelby Baptist Church. She enjoys art, sewing, painting, cooking and outdoor activities.

I have been a part of Meadow Brook Baptist Preschool since 2013. I graduated from the University of Alabama in 2005 with a BS in Elementary Education. I taught kindergarten in Shelby County from 2005-2008. My husband, Chris, and I have been married since 2006. In 2008, we welcomed our wonderful son, Lane. In 2010, we welcome our beautiful little girl, Bethany and in 2017 we welcomed our sweet Emily Anne. Our family attends Church of the Highlands. I absolutely love investing in the heart and education of five year olds!

I have been a part of Meadow Brook Baptist Preschool for the past 15 years.  It has been such a blessing to have been able to have taught in the 2’s, 3’s, and 4’s. It was such a tough decision to come out of the classroom and not be able to love my own little class, but now I can love all 120 students each and every day!!

Kristi is in her fourth year of teaching preschool. She was born and raised in Green Bay, WI, but has lived in Birmingham for the last 20 years. Kristi and her husband Don have been married for 20 years and have two sons-Jackson, a freshman in college, and Maddox, a sophomore in high school. In her free time, she enjoys art, painting, decorating and cheering on her Green Bay Packers!

Hello! My name is Laura Kathryn Burch and I am so excited to be teaching at MBBC Preschool. I am from Tuscaloosa, AL and graduated from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) with a degree in human development and family studies. I met my husband, Austin, in college and after we got married we moved to Texas where we resided for 6 1/2 years in various locations. While in Texas we became parents to three amazing boys, Bryan, Brooks, and Benjamin. We have recently moved back to Alabama to be closer to family and are excited to be back home! I enjoy time with family, going on walks/runs, and reading a good book! I look forward to getting to know you and your children this school year!

Lori graduated from UAB with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education.  She taught elementary school for several years and then started working here in 1990 when the Preschool first started. She has taught 2 year olds, 3 year olds, and 4 year olds here and has been the director for 10 years.  She has 3 grown children that have all gone through preschool here at MBBC Preschool. She has been married to Bill for 34 years.  She has been a member of this church for 30 years (not quite a charter member but real close). She loves serving God and working with children and teachers and with all the parents of this preschool. Some of her hobbies are gardening, spending time at the beach in the sun, and Alabama football! (Roll Tide).

I am so excited to be back at MBBC teaching Spanish and helping with the 4 yr. old classes this year! I am originally from wherever my dad was stationed at the time, but mostly from Maryland and graduated from University of Alabama in 1988. After working in Nashville in Healthcare for 17 years, I met my husband Clark and moved to Birmingham in 2004, then had our lovely daughter, Mia in 2008 (a MBBC graduate). I enjoy traveling with the family, hiking, doggies and reading. Each day, I promise to help make your child’s MBBC experience a wonderful one, where he/she feels safe, comfortable and happy!
