Olivia graduated from the University of South Florida n 1996, with a major in economics and a minor in dance. She then graduated from Nova Southeastern Law School with honors in 1999. Her and her husband, Daniel, have been married for seventeen years. She practiced law in both Florida and Alabama for a little over four years until her first child, Zachary was born and stayed home to be with him. Two years later her triple daughters, Kathleen, Maggie, and Abby were born. Another two years later her fifth child, Benjamin was born. Now that all of her kids are in school, she is able to come on board as a toddler teacher. She attends Church of the Highlands. Her hobbies are diving her children to their activities and Alabama football!
Aide to Threes
Regenia has taught at Meadow Brook Weekday Preschool since 2004. She has a degree in Fashion Merchandising from the University of Alabama. She is married and they have three children. All of her children graduated from Meadow Brook Baptist Preschool. She has been a member of this church for over twenty years.
This is my very first year at Kids of the Kingdom, and I am very excited to be here. I have been working with children for over 30 years as a nanny or working in early learning centers. Children are my passion and God has graciously called me to serve Him by in this most beautiful way.
I am also a member at Meadow Brook Baptist Church.
Four Year Old Teacher
I have had the pleasure of working and enjoying children most of my life. It has all been such a joy. I have taught in Shelby Co. for 28 years, 23 of those years in First Grade at Oak Mountain Elementary school. I am originally form Chilton Co. l, attended Auburn University, and received my Masters from the University of Montevallo. I have one daughter whom I have been blessed to enjoy.
I am really looking forward to working with preschool children. I feel a huge responsibility on my shoulders to give them the best of me and looking forward to a great year!
Tara attended the University of Montevallo where she met her husband, Alan Cecil. She graduated in 2000 with a BS in Biology. She and Alan have been married for 13 years. They have three sweet boys, twins who are 11 and a 6 year old. Before becoming a stay at home mom Tara was a primate keeper at the Birmingham Zoo. This is Tara’s first year with the preschool. She is very excited to get to know your children.
Two Year Old Teacher
Teresa has taught at Meadow Brook Baptist Preschool for 10 years. She has been a member of Meadow Brook Baptist Church for over 25 years. She has 6 children ranging in age from 37 to 13. She has 2 grandsons ages 8 and 10. She has been married to her wonderful husband for almost 27 years. They have fostered over 20 children. She teaches in various capacities on Sundays and Wednesdays at Meadow Brook.
Aide to Fours and Fives
This is Theresa’s third year at Kids of the Kingdom. She has been an aide for the three year olds and a toddler teacher. Previously, she spent 28 years in the engineering/construction field as an administrative assistant. She currently works part-time for a civil engineering company. Theresa has been happily married to Ray for 31 years. They spend Friday nights watching their son, Colton, play his senior football season for Chelsea High School (Go Hornets!). On Saturdays, they travel to Tuscaloosa to watch their daughter, Courtney, perform her final season as a Crimsonette in the Million Dollar Band (Roll Tide!). She and her family worship at Church of the Highlands, Greystone.
Wendy is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She graduated from Redemptorist High School in 1978 and Baton Rouge Community College in 1980. She then married Marcus Wright in 1981. She worked as an administrative assistant for 13 years with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office and Baton Rouge Fire Department before becoming a stay at home mom of 5 children.
She has 4 boys: John David (24), Phillip (20), William (18), and Alexander (17). She has one daughter, Emily (22). Wendy home schooled four of her children for seven years before entering them into private school for a couple of years and then into the Oak Mountain Schools. She began teaching at Meadow Brook Baptist Preschool when her youngest started Kindergarten, which was 12 years ago this year!
Her family moved from Baton Rouge to Birmingham in 2001, when her oldest child was 10 and her youngest was 2 years of age as part of the original 34 member launch team to plant Church of the Highlands. Her husband, Marcus, is over Pastoral Care, and Wendy now works part-time in the nursery/preschool ministry now that her children are older. Wendy enjoys working out (after it’s over!) on a regular basis!
Has five grown children (3 boys, 2 girls) ranging in ages 33 to 24 years of age. She has 5 grandchildren (3 boys, 2 girls). She has been married to her husband Brent for 34 years. She has been a school bus driver for 20 years and currently drives for Inverness Elementary. She loves to travel, read, and to be with her children and their spouses and grandchildren. This is her biggest source of joy.
